Voice Lessons

Since 2004, Baraka has taught music in a range of capacities, including private voice lessons, piano lessons, elementary music, middle school choir, high school choir, collegiate a cappella, master classes, and conservatory programs.

Baraka serves as Individual Voice Instructor at the collegiate level for The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). She also directs the award-winning John Burroughs High School group, The Muses, in addition to her private Voice instruction.

Baraka’s methodology is based on three essential structures behind singing: breath support, posture, and vowel shape/placement. This results in a balanced, blended voice without strain, breaks, tension, or fatigue.

A gifted sight-reader, Baraka actively works to strengthen the music literacy skills in her students by giving them sight-reading materials and ear-training exercises.
